We’re in the early days of a new normal as the whole wide world deals with Covid-19. I haven’t received word yet on the status of performances coming up this spring, including the Atlanta Jazz Festival, but will notify on my calendar at karlaharris.com as I do.
One thing is for sure, we’ll come out of this more appreciative than ever of the joy and mystery and connection that happens when people gather to play and to hear live music. I am already missing that gathering, missing my musician buddies, the energy, and you who come to hear. I’m sitting at my piano nearly daily, singing for no one but the Poodle, just for the release of it. It’s good for body and soul.
Singing is breath and life. If you are feeling anxious or blue or pent-up, sing something, anything, from the heart. It feels good.
Be well. We’ll get through this … and there will be silver linings. I believe that.
