Last November, bassist Tom Kennedy called to say he was working on a new track for his upcoming CD, a song featuring jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, and would I like to be on it? Yes! The next week I recorded vocals in Atlanta while Tom directed from NYC via Skype.
The CD, POINTS OF VIEW, released April 7, 2017, and I’m excited to be a part of it, singing the melody with Chuck’s guitar on Track #3, “New July,” a tune written by Roger Guth (drummer with the Jimmy Buffet band since 1989). The song's funky-smooth groove features solos by Chuck, Tom, saxophonist Bob Franceschini and drummer Wes Ritenour. It's just one great song on this great album, which also features Lee Ritenour, Mike Stern, Bill Evans, Charles Blenzig, DaveWeckl, Wes Ritenour, Bob Franceschini, Obed Calvaire, Nick Marcione, RichieMorales, Bob Malack and Randy Brecker. Visit Tom’s website for info and copies of “Points ofView.”
